Indian airlines to avoid Iranian airspace: DGCA

Indian carriers will steer clear of the risk-fraught Persian Gulf-Gulf of Oman area while overflying through that region on their flights to and from India. This will mean further extension of the long routes Indian and foreign carriers have been taking while flying between the west and parts of south Asia, including Delhi, since February 27 when Pakistan closed its airspace.
