India's date with Moon: Our new abode or a transit point?
India, which will launch Chandrayaan-2 on July 15, has been conducting research on various aspects of Moon, including building habitats there. Isro plans to send people to the Moon. Among some serious work by the US, Europe and China is one on using local material to build structures on Moon and to use the natural satellite as a launchpad to farther expeditions.
