Home minister Amit Shah on Monday pitched for a single multipurpose identity card to do away with the need for separate documentation such as Aadhaar number, electoral photo identity card, PAN and passport number etc. He said digitally capturing data for Census and National Population Register via mobile app would help merge multiple individual databases into a single multipurpose card.
