Former Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Tuesday joined the Congress in the presence of Rahul Gandhi at the party's headquarters in the national capital. Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani also came out in support of the Congress ideology but did not join the party formally.
