Sikkim, N Bengal battered by rain, some respite in U'khand

Landslides halted traffic on National Highway-10, the main road linking Sikkim capital Gangtok with the rest of the country. Torrential showers in Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Jalpaiguri districts of northern Bengal triggered landslides causing damages to roads and bridges. In Uttarakhand, connectivity to Nainital was partially restored, allowing stranded tourists to move out.
