Gyanvapi: Court rejects 'shivling' carbon dating plea

A Varanasi district has rejected the plea for carbon dating of a "shivling" found within the premises of the Gyanvapi mosque. Judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha cited possibility of damages to "shivling" in conducting carbon dating or any scientific investigation while disallowing the plea. The Hindu side in the case had demanded carbon dating of the object, while the plea was opposed by the Muslim side.
