Cong's poll promises in K'taka may cost exchequer Rs 42k cr/yr

The two poll promises Congress has made so far — to provide free electricity up to 200 units to every household and Rs 2,000 monthly cash assistance for homemakers — is expected to cost the state exchequer Rs 40,000 to 42,000 crore annually. This is of course contingent on the party implementing the promises if it forms the government.
