I will remove the sorrows of all living beings: Dalai Lama
The Dalai Lama said that he had a dream that he would live to be 115 or 116 years old. After delivering sermons on Nagarjuna's commentary on bodhichitta on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, devotees held prayers for the long life of the spiritual leader at the Kalachakra teaching ground on Sunday morning. "It is indeed an auspicious occasion for us that Geluk Shakyam Nyingma and other sects of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition have prayed for my long life," the Dalai Lama said. "It is a day of celebration. Do not worry too much about me as my body and mind are fine. I will live a long life." The Dalai Lama called on for giving up consumption of meat, tobacco, and alcohol. He said, "Remember what I said. Not my body- it will benefit you all. Lord Buddha also said the same. You all practice the awakening mind of bodhichitta. However, the Dalai Lama expressed displeasure over the stand of Chinese government and said, "China was the first Buddhist nation. Later, the Chinese government did not agree but the people there still believe in Buddhism. At the same time, people of Western countries have developed faith in Buddhist philosophy.
