Nepal plane tragedy: Opened two weeks ago, Pokhara airport was part of China's BRI project
At least 67 people were confirmed dead on Sunday when a Yeti Airlines plane with 72 on board crashed in Nepal, police said, in the Himalayan country's deadliest aviation disaster in three decades. The Pokhara International Airport was in fact inaugurated just two weeks ago by Nepal's newly-appointed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda', PTI reported. It was built with Chinese assistance and was part of China's flagship Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) cooperation.
