Now a calorie check at Kolkata airport food outlets
Kolkata Airport is promoting a healthy lifestyle by displaying the calorie count of all food and beverage items on their menus. This is in line with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India's (FSSAI) advisory that it is mandatory for restaurants with a central licence or outlets at 10 or more locations to mention the calorie count of all their food and beverages. The current upgrade at Kolkata Airport is in tune with the FSSAI advisory, especially with the airport nearing pre-covid footfall. Flyers seem to be happy with the new policy, as many say that they like to maintain a healthy diet and keep a check on the food they eat, but during long waits at airports, especially during winter, they too end up munching a lot of stuff. However, with the calorie count of the food now available, flyers can keep tabs on what they are eating and know what to eat and what to skip.
